Conductive Solution for Metal Replacement Application was Rewarded with 1st Prize in Malmö
Premix received the Plastics Innovation Competition 1st prize on behalf of Anders Thulin Consulting (ATC AB) at Plastteknik fair held in Malmö on May 2010. Competition was organized by Plastforum.
Award-winning innovation was the SparkSafe® grounding pliers. Material used in pliers was Premix’s conductive PRE-ELEC® PP 1399.
Conductive material replaced metal (aluminium) in this application in an innovative way:
These pliers can dissipate static electricity in a controlled manner to reduce risk of incentive sparks. It will neither be able to give of mechanical sparks if dropped on a hard surface.
Other advantages over the metal pliers, among many others, were especially ergonomic design, lightweight and comfortable in low temperatures, corrosion resistance and better dirt and dyes penetration. The SparkSafe® clamp will be introduced on the market in August 2010.
