Case: Schurter
Swiss company Schurter is a producer of electronic components such as push-buttons, fuses, keypads and connectors.
Schurter was facing severe problems with a push button of the electrical switch. The margins had tightened due to heavy competition and the old metallic push button with labour-intensive construction was not profitable anymore.
Fortunately a Schurter designer came across with Premix’s highly conductive PRESEAL ® elastomer. The construction of push button was re-designed and metallic insert was replaced with PRESEAL ®.
Thanks to significant savings in production costs the competitiveness of electrical switch was regained.
